Deinonychus antirrhopus Killing Claw
108-115 Million Years BP
Deinonychus was an early member of the raptor clan, distinguished by a large sickle shaped “killing claw” on its foot. Some scientists speculate that it was used to kick at the vulnerable bellies of its prey while hunting for food.
